Tandem and Trio Delights at El Porto

The cold is gone and after a week long dry spell, I finally got back out in the water today…and it was awesome.  I took my Harbour Quatro. (I didn’t trust my paddling power after a cold and a week of no surfing.)  Aaron brought comrade Kruisechev.  (We questioned his board choice so close to Independence Day.) It was clearly a cruising longboard day.

The waves were not spectacular, but at 2-3 feet, they were just right for me to get back into after my ailment-induces hiatus.  We had a wonderfully big crew today including me, Josh, Aaron, Mary, Bennett and special guest star Dave.  So lots of good friends, decent waves and an actual Friday at El Porto made for a superb surf session. The waves were gentle and long enough that we were pulling sweet tandem and trio rides on the waves as you will see in the following pictures.  Aaron clearly owned the day today.  He was the champ on his board and on Josh’s blue fish.

I don’t know what was better, the surfing or the breakfast.

Looks like a great day out. Can I ask what photo plug-in you use for the slideshow?

It was an awesome day out. Everyone was having fun, smiling, trading boards… It probably couldn’t have been better.

For the images, I use “FancyBox for WordPress.” Some of the other gallery plug-ins have some better functionality, but I wanted to use a plug-in that only used jQuery to cut down on my javascript includes. I’m actually super happy with it so far.
