Coen Festagain

A new Coen Brothers movie is due out on Nov. 21 – No Country For Old Men.You may remember that I tried to read this book a while back when I found out that the Coen Brothers were adapting it into a film. I hated the book and couldn’t finish it. I don’t know if it was the book or if I was just in the wrong place to read it at the time. Also, the film features Josh Brolin, so that’s not exactly a huge selling point for me. Whenever I hear Josh Brolin, all I remember is how silly he looked in Goonies wearing shorts over sweats and a headband. (And I’ve always been confused about this – what Brolin’s character’s name “Brad” or “Brand” in Goonies?)Hopefully Tommy Lee Jones‘ star power will be enough to out way Brolin.Still, I trust the Brothers Coen and am eager to see the film.Anyway, as is my custom when a new Coen Bros film comes out, I am having my Coen movies fest. This time I am watching them in chronological order. Then after I see the film, I am re-reading my entries from the Coen Fest from two films ago (when “Intolerable Cruelty” came out way back on aught three). Last night I watched Blood Simple. Man do I need an editor!Tonight – “Raising Arizona!”
