Morning Mellows at Porto

It was a glassy morning at Porto, pretty small, slow, but rideable surf.  Clean conditions, 1 -3 ft with an occasional +.  Most waves were waist high or below.  As the morning progressed the waves seemed to get a little better.  The bigger waves were walled to closed out, but there were some fun cruisers out there.  Good for the longboard.  I saw some dudes rocking nose rides and other dudes on short boards practicing some sweet maneuvers, over all it was a pretty laid back morning.

    That’s the trick about El Porto. Many times it doesn’t look like much from the parking lot – which turns away most surfers. But if you get out there, there are some fun waves to ride and now the crowds are significantly reduced.

    Yes the crowd was pretty light today, that was a bonus
