It seems kinda odd for Washington to be backed by the Statue of Liberty. Since they have to make new designs for these Presidential dollar coins, surely they could have come up with a backside design that had something to do with the Pres on the front? Like those weird, ever-changing nickels — how many different bizarre designs of those things are there? And why are we changing our money SO often? Is the government just THAT bored? There isn’t anything better for them to do?
You know, I was thinking the same thing for the back of the dollar coins. I was trying to figure how they settled on the Statue of Liberty. It should be the White House (the Executive Mansion) or a veto pen or something like that. But I suppose they are trying to generate interest in US currency since it is dropping so insanely next to the Pound and the Euro.

They should have given ol’ George a facelift a la Suave Hamilton (he’s a lady killer). George is looking a bit heavy in the jowl area.
